Juno (the pirated version: chinese subtitles)
We are blogging while our pirated movie is buffering...thanks to harry mason we finally get to see Juno...which is decidedly a girl's name, thanks to this very well made movie. It is a fabulous flick, according to the five minute clips i have seen thus far. I am pregnant, she is pregnant...adds to the fun. I have not decided whether it is our computer or our internet connection, but we are only able to see small segments at a time. John says it is not helped by my clicking "next blog" at the top of the screen while the movie is trying to catch up. He says it will bog things down. So, i am hoping blog posting is less bogging to the system. We have seen some very interesting blogs though...i found Huckabee's former director of family policy while he was governor. (http://pylesoflittlerock.blogspot.com/) He sounds like a pretty good guy, talks about politics and religion. Interesting. I also saw a bunch of foreign blogs, and parents with kids. I enjoy spying on random blogs....lucking out without hitting any obscene ones tonight, they must be getting better at weeding them out. Back to the film!!!!

I want to see Juno sad badly..... I also love looking at other peoples blogs. have you ever gone to blogger play? that is so much fun... you can click on the pics that you like as they are uploading and then look at their site.
Of the best picture candidates I've only seen There Will be Blood. It was darn good. I read the book No Country for Old Men, so I feel like I've seen the film, too. I guess my vote is for Blood, unless I too can find a pirated copy of Juno. Jason
Wow! I haven't seen any of those movies. Are they on video yet, because I don't get to the theater much anymore. But when Burt and Chris were here we saw the Keira Knightly movie...can't remember the name...it was ok.
Carol... Atonement. I didn't like it either. Just kind of, blah. -- ST
Thanks ST! I knew it started with a vowel...that was all I could muster. "Blah" is a good description.
I think that just happened to be the least-lame British film of the year and was thus selected to fill the Oscars quota of "one long boring British movie" best picture nominatoin.
Speaking of British movies...Dino and I watched "Elizabeth..the Golden Age" the other night. Later that night there was an ad for "The Other Boleyn Girl (?)", and he said, "oh...we already saw that one." Ha, ha (as in all British movies seem alike)
