well...352 W. Pickard Burned Down

Family, dog escapes from burning house
An Isabella County family got out unharmed early Monday morning when fire broke out at their Deerfield Township home.
Kim and Keith Cotter, along with their daughter, Taylor, and miniature dachshund, Weezie, were able to get out of their home at 352 W. Pickard Rd. after they discovered the fire in the chimney area.
Deerfield Township firefighters were called to the home at about 6:45 a.m. and spent about six hours at the scene, Fire Chief Ryan Martin said.
Although the home, which was insured, was a total loss, firefighters were able to save some of the family’s belongings, including furniture, photographs and clothing, Deerfield Township Fire Chief Ryan Martin said.
Fire appears to have broken out in a wood stove, Martin said.
About 30 firefighters from Deerfield, the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department, Nottawa-Sherman Township Fire Department, the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Fire Department and the Fremont Fire Department responded to the blaze, Martin said.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, the blaze had spread through the roof area but interior walls were intact, Martin said.
Firefighters were also able to remove two vehicles from the garage and keep the garage from catching fire, the chief said.
Isabella County Sheriff’s deputies blocked West Pickard Road at Meridian and Nottawa roads as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.

As a former resident of 352 Pickard, this is pretty shocking. A lot of good times happened there. HOw many CMU degrees were earned by residents who lived there? More than a dozen, for sure. Lots of Hot and Now, dogs, chickens. Beverages of all sorts were consumed. Video games and movies. It was full of memories. I'll miss it. Jason T.

It is so sureal! It is very sad to think that the home we came home from the hospital to, is gone (well, everyone but Cheryl, but what is new!)...where we spyed on Cheryl acting cool in her basement bedroom, where Bryce used to pick John up and throw him on top of me to kill two birds with one stone, then somehow managed to blame it on us, where Cheryl held Matt Haley's hand for the first time, where John put a battery in a vice to see what was inside and got battery acid in his eye and had to wear a patch all summer, where we had many a meal after an exhausting swim practice! Oh the memories...............

Where are the pictures John??? Just for clarification, I am not adopted, and did come home from the hospital to 352! Matt and I held hands for the first time at a concert, but I'm sure that there were other firsts for 352 (right John?)! How about the photo of all the naked roomates? Do you still have that Danielle? Did you know that the garage survived? Maybe Jason Mac could go on over and re-create his jump from the roof into the swimming pool!

**Clearification**

352 Was purchased after Cheryl was born. Cheryl came home from the hospital to a trailer. Check with Burt.

I can't help but think that the re-wiring done by a certain unlicensed contractor/retired professor/book collector could have truly been the root of it all......j/k

I remember the Trailer -- watched Sanford and son in black and white for the first time there ... Anyway I regress ... I know I sat on the porch at 352 with newborn Cheryl -- so if she didn't come home from Alma to 352 it would have been pretty darn close!
I have fond memories from there too --
