Reading a book, i mean.... Anywho, upon John's recommendation, I have begun reading "The Tipping Point" by Malcolm Gladwell. It's a book about (non-fiction) epidemics and what it the tipping point to cause them. So far very interesting. One of the first influencers was a type of person called a connector (Chris Ann, i think you fit the bill), one who is social and enthusiastic about everyone, connected to everyone and remembers names and birthdays very well. As i read this, i was scheming how to achieve this status, trying to think how to practice remembering names, etc....then was exhausted at the idea. I should just try to befriend some and live in their shadow, much less energy.
They then went on to the Market Mavens... Collectors of knowledge. I was thrilled! There I am, I found me!!! John said I was in there somewhere. My compulsive collection of information paid off! These type of people are a wealth of knowledge of the marketplace and study things obsessively before buying. The other day my friend Katie called and mentioned she was car shopping, she asked about the vibe. Mistake #1": She is now thoroughly educated on all the stats and consumer report ratings of the pontiac vibe and all of its competitors. On second thought, this might be Mom Nelson too! That lady can find some awesome deals! She got us a rental car for $50 for a whole weekend, might have been cheaper, from 5000 mile away!!!
