Even Older Human skeleton found...yes, even older than Lucy!!!

I always wonder how they can determine the fur make-up of a being from a skeleton. How do they know she wasn't a blonde? What if she was stacked with Double-D's?

Before Lucy came Ardi, new earliest hominid found
-----------------------------------------

WASHINGTON — The story of humankind is reaching back another million years as scientists learn more about "Ardi," a hominid who lived 4.4 million years ago in what is now Ethiopia. The 110-pound, 4-foot female roamed forests a million years before the famous Lucy, long studied as the earliest skeleton of a human ancestor.

This older skeleton reverses the common wisdom of human evolution, said anthropologist C. Owen Lovejoy of Kent State University.

Rather than humans evolving from an ancient chimp-like creature, the new find provides evidence that chimps and humans evolved from some long-ago common ancestor — but each evolved and changed separately along the way.

Odd how evolution THEORIES change so often. Yes? No? Maybe...

The Bible's theory has not changed though... hmmmm??? :P

I find it reassuring that the creation story and evolution follow similar guidelines (ex// earliest life in the sea). I like it when science backs up god's word. BTW- the original word used for "day" in the creation story (i heard) is the Hebrew word for day that can also be translated as 'period of time' (could be 24hr, or could be any length of time) rather than 24 hr day, i've been told there is another word for the hebrew 24 hr day. (I'm no expert, I'm just a book junkie.)

And, yes...theories are just that. That is one of the most important things to remember about science. Theories are to be taken as such, the best tested ideas we have 'so far'.
