This is what I look like with only half of a beard

This way, if I turn just right, then I look relatively young and respectable. I get picked up for vagrancy less, and can secure a higher line of credit.
If I turn the other way, I am asked fewer questions about my social life, and stay overall warmer about the face.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Bear is super pumped for today at school. He says its going to be a great day. Yesterday Bear asked if he could not bring a snack into school so he could get snacks from the teacher (meant for kids who forget), she must have something good. I said no, we were not going to be one of the forgetful families, then i forgot the snack today, oops! Well, i guess his valentine's day is going to be extra special. He asked what he was getting for valentines day, he already made and gave us hearts with our names on it... we still have to find something for him. We're not real big on the holiday, it disappears into the many February birthdays. Our kid is all grown up and can now hold us accountable....i gotta find something good.

A Battle of Wills

This game lasted 7 hours and 23 minutes. Bear and Nonno determined it to be a draw after Nonno's Algerian Knight offense was sysematically rebuffed away by Bear's Romanian implementation of the Mihail Marin defense. They decided that to continue along those parallel strategies would only result in a senseless loss of pawns with no clear winner.

Saturday! Saturday! Saturday!

Nonno took Bear and also me, Dean, and Heather, to a freestyle motocross extravaganza at the Palace of Auburn Hills on Saturday. Here is the typical clientelle of an event like this, I learned: 18-24 year old middle class white males and their girlfriends. Secondly, fathers of boys aged 3-8 and those boys.

Here, Bear watches intlently as a series of motocross riders do backflips off of ramps and then land on other ramps. He loved it.
