Remember those adorable little ducks? They grew up into juicy full-sized ducks. Then they disappeared the other night. We told Bear they must have gotten big enough to fly away but he has been "looking for clues." He has found a couple clues. That pile of feathers up there is one of them.He and Danielle had a talk about the likeliness that they had been eaten by a raccoon or something. She asked him how he felt about it and he said that he was a little sad but that he would "see them again someday."
As I was raking up grass this evening, a red KIA screeched to a stop in our driveway. The socially awkward woman who poured out of it asked if she could come back with a rake and have my grass clippings. I was more than happy to let her. She has a friend with chickens and apparently they just can't get enough grass clippings. Something about yellower yolks.
Bear is helping me finish putting up walls on his 8ft high platform of terror. I have been negligent for 7 months. In that time nobody has broken any bones and it will soon more closely resemble a tree-fort and appear less like ironic installation art. "Nice...deck?"

Wow! I didn't even know you were building something like that! Your kids are very lucky. Your home changes so much year to year. Keepin' it fresh!........c.
Ok.... that picture of the lady picking up the grass scraps.... made me laugh so hard. It reminds me of people trying to pick up money on a game show. All crazy and frenzied.
