Pretty Important

Last Saturday Steve called and invited us up to hang out with some Taits. Small puffs of dust were all the remained where we were just a split second earlier.

Here is that Amish camp house Hank had installed for a ridiculously low price.

Willow with a wedgie or something.

Here is Adam and Maisy. When did she get Juneau's hat?

Here's Spencer just barely beating out Steve in a race around the ranch. There are 64 acres so it is a long haul but Spence kicked it right at the finish line and Steve just didn't have any more juice. He barfed right after this picture. The kids poked it with sticks and tried to light it on fire. There were hotdogs in it.

There is a new baby goat at the ranch. He apparently escapes frequently; here he is being apprehended. They got him at an auction in Indianapolis from a livestock dealer out of Spokane. I guess the goats from Spokane are better because the thinner air makes them juicier from the start or something. He is for breeding stock and can fetch up to $1,400 per stud service -plus the pick of the litter (there are usually about 8-12 goats in a litter).

Rootbeer floats and trampolines. At one point Adam, who was sitting next to me, said, "this is like a 7 year-0ld's dream. We're going to need some rootbeer floats and a trampoline!"

There was a tree that was begging to be chopped down and so we tied ropes to it and hit it with axes.

Here I am taking a few swings, documented by Jason Tait and his camera-and-phone-and-computer all in one that the kids are calling an iPod. After about two chops I felt ready for a nap. When it came down a piece kicked back and went through Dan's windshield. He had just had it replaced, too. He had to drive home the next day with his face exposed to the wind at highway speeds and got some kind of skin rash around his lips and eyelids. I guess there was some wierd wind vortex as a result and a bunch of exhaust built up in the cabin and some last-resort safety sensor burnt out the oxygen sensor and the engine overheated. He had to have it towed the last 9 miles but everyone is ok. The tree is not ok.

OK so CMU has many famous grads and Jason even went to school with Larry Campbell (I think) You goofs are better then anything that has come out of Mid Michigan. You need to write a book, make a movie, whatever !!
