The play!!!

Part 2, minute 2:00
In this flashback sequence, Bear is an unnamed front-row-sitting classmate of a younger and more optimistic Scrooge. Bear’s portrayal of an innocent schoolboy reveals considerable acting skills –as, in actual classrooms, he is an absolute terror.

Part 3, minute 0:35
Bear makes his initial appearance as Tiny Tim, limping on an oversized crutch to support his frail body.

Part 3, minute 2:30
Bear, as Tiny Tim, admits his faith that he will be healed some day.

Part 4, minute 1:25
Bear, as a healthy Tim, eats Christmas dinner and then sings Joy to the World.

Bah Humbug!

Bear was Tiny Tim in the church play's version of "A Christmas Carol." He did a great job and the play was terrific.

God bless us, every Bob.

Remote Master

This morning Juneau got ahold of the DVD remote and since it was powerless and I had the real TV remote, I let him play with it (which involved mashing and throwing and chewing and pretending it was a phone by pinching it in the crook of his neck).
Later, it turned out he was able to set it so that the DVD remote controlled our TV. Awesome! I was all, "all right, now we have two TV remotes!"
Then he played with it some more and it no longer controls the TV. I don't know how he did it but now it is just a lame freaking DVD remote with no additional powers or value.
Juneau, what is your secret? What combination of buttons did you chew to enable TV control??

O' Christmas Tree...

O' Christmas Tree...
How prickly are your branches!!!

Okay, so Juneau kept showing up with a scratch, then another scratch, until John comes home yesterday and this kid has a blood streak across his cheek from the nose scratch and the scratch on his left cheek. I could not figure out all day where all these scratches were coming from. I trimmed Willow's nails, thinking maybe she was "tickling" his face a little too vigorously...then we narrowed down the variables. The only thing different between yesterday and today was the Christmas tree we had put up last night. (Notice the fence) We had to put up a fence around the tree, hoping the fence itself won't be the source of more scratches than the tree itself. It turns out that Juneau and Willow like to HUG the tree when I am not in the living room. I did not see this all day because when I am in the room, they are busy piling on top of ME!!! Oh man... I felt like a mom failure. ("Don't look at my shame!!!" I say to John as I hide Juneau's scratched up little baby face.) Man, that stinks. I cannot go out in public with this kid for at least a week...

Gatlinburg Aquarium: Fish Pics

I like Gatlinburg's Aquarium. John and I went there on our honeymoon, took the kids there last spring... and could not pass up a third opportunity when we were in town last weekend. It was great to be there with lots of people that we love as well... HUGE bonus!!! This aquarium was the first went to as a couple and now have a bit of an aquarium collection going. We have now visited the Tampa/ St. Pete aquarium, Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, Baltimore Aquarium, Seattle Aquarium, and I think there may be some I have missed.. but the Atlanta Aquarium and Cincinnati Aquarium are on our radars. Happy Thursday and watch out for big foot. I heard he's on the prowl.

Sasquatch Siting...

I was amazing during the whole event. Kept my cool, kept my camera steady....but as soon as the enormous beast was out of site, I cried like a little baby. It was HORRIFYING!!! He was so close. He could have eaten me in one bite.

Crap I Like

"I guess what I mean to say is, Rudolph, with your nose, so bright, won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"

The Nelson kids had a chance to watch Rudolph once a year and it was (and still is) always on Wednesday nights. The problem for us is that Wednesday night AWANA perennially got in the way and we would catch Rudolph in pieces here and there and have to stitch it together in our minds from previous stolen minuets of years past.

One time I stayed home sick and gloriously watched it from start to finish. Decadence.

Room Sharing Experiment: FAIL

NOTICE THE EMPTY SHELVES

...So, I thought that for today's nap time I would see if these two were able to sleep in the same room. I did not predict this outcome at all. I thought maybe SHE would end up in there, but THIS!!!!???

Imagine me, sweeping... cooking...blogging, while all of this nonsense is silently going on behind closed doors!!! I think I need hidden cameras!!!
