This is a cedar bed Kevin made as his first big project of
Blue River Mill & Woodwright Co. There aren't any nails or screws in the entire thing.

In this series of outdoor images, he is testing its insulating capabilities. The natural pores of the rustic surface enables the bed to breathe and wick out coldness. This rustic bed is actually much warmer to the touch than a manufactured bed just feet outside of the image, and will maintain its warmth 126% longer.

These voids in the material are actually ergonomic foot-pegs. They provide the precise amount leverage to the foot, whereby an occupant can, with the simple flick of a toe, vault themselves into a standing position, invigorated and ready for the day.

Here, Kevin pummels an unruly cedar log into submission. I learned that it is critical for rustic furniture makers to establish calm assertive dominance over their materials. Once this log understands its position in the rustic furniture hierarchy it is a happy and, in fact, much more satisfied log.

Wow. That's pretty rockin' ~KT
Very nice! Is that strictly an outside bed, or can you also use it in places such as the master bedroom?
