I hear ya ! Everything is getting so expensive. I used to think that I could live on pasta and rice alone... Now a rice shortage and pasta is so expensive! I went to Walmart today to pick up more Kraft Mac and Cheese for Henry and it went up .18 cents from just the other day! Your not alone on this one. ~Kara
...if you lived in any number of other countries, then yes, there would be cause for concern. But here in the US, we just have to worry about our grocery bill going up. Annoying? Yes....Expensive? Yes. But I'm not worried for myself...the babies in China? Yes!
..nothing wrong with being a bit prepared. But I think you are getting too worried, too quick (about both your home value AND the food). We are blessed to be living here, though I doubt we will be unaffected. Do your best, then rest on that great faith which I KNOW you have. Love, Mom

All I know is that after reading The Road, I am fully supportive of the stockpiling.
I am not worried. The government will take care of me.
