Times Herald • October 1, 2009It was colder this morning in Port Huron than it has been in more than seven decades.
The Port Huron waste water treatment plant recorded a temperature of 32 degrees at 8 a.m., one degree colder than the record low set Oct. 1, 1935, according to information from the NationalWeather Service in Oakland County’s White Lake Township.
Amos Dodson, a weather service meteorologist
, said no records were broken elsewhere, including at Detroit Metro Airport in Romulus and in Flint.
It currently is 39 degrees at the St. Clair County International Airport.
Today’s temperature is expected to reach 59 degrees. The average high for Oct. 1 is 67 degrees in Port Huron.
